Our meeting for January’2024 took place on January 17th, 2024, starting at 6 PM Central time. It was hosted at Improving, 18881 W Dodge Road, STE 120E, Elkhorn, NE 68022. Instead of having one 60-minute presentation, we had four lightning talks – 15 minutes each – only two sessions were recorded.

Session 1 –
Title: Seed or not to seed
GPT models are non-deterministic, meaning if you ask the same question (context + prompt) multiple times (and all else remains the same) you are likely to get a different response. Depending on the use case, this can be beneficial or can be dis-advantageous. In this short session, we will dig into the why and how of the model non-determinism, and also look into a new feature to make the model deterministic. Non-determinism and determinism examples will be illustrated through code and an interactive demo.

With over 30 years of experience in the technology industry, Sudhir specializes in helping small and large businesses effectively use Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Data. During his 14 years as a Microsoft employee, he assisted clients in adopting the Microsoft Data and Cloud platform for their business initiatives. He was an AI practice director for a large consulting company, where Sudhir helped set up an AI consulting practice and helped enterprise clients implement large-scale AI applications. In his current role, he is responsible for solutioning AI and Generative AI-based solutions for financial services clients. Sudhir’s passion for AI is fueled by its ability to transform industries, particularly through Generative AI (aka ChatGPT), and he has been fortunate to work on several projects that have leveraged AI to create innovative solutions. Sudhir has recently focused on Generative AI technologies and is keen on leveraging them to enhance business productivity. In addition to his work in the industry, Sudhir is honored to serve as an adjunct professor at the University of Nebraska, Omaha, for the past 12 years, where he shares his expertise with students. He also writes on Generative AI topics on his LinkedIn page.
Session 2 –
Title: Building a Chatbot
We will be exploring how we can use an english owners manual to build a chatbot that can support helping our users in almost any language! That way we can write help documentation once and help out just about anyone in real time!

Session 3 –
Title: Azure API Management Service
Azure API Management offers a scalable, multi-cloud API management platform for securing, publishing, and analyzing APIs. It allows organizations to publish APIs hosted on Azure, on-premises, and in other clouds more securely, reliably, and at scale. It also drives API consumption among internal teams, partners, and developers while benefiting from business and log analytics available in the admin portal. In this talk, Sudarshan will be giving a quick overview of Azure APIM service.

Sudarsan currently works at Concentrix as a Senior Manager, Engineering. He also provides solutioning and technical architecture with cloud infrastructure for clients business problems from ideation to delivery demonstrating deep understanding of cloud technologies and delivery principles. Sudarsan has been a speaker in some annual events like Kansas City Developers Conference and Heartland Developers conference. He has a bachelor in Engineering with electronics and communication as specialization.

Title: Microsoft Copilot for Azure
Microsoft Copilot for Azure is an AI-powered tool to help you do more with Azure. With Microsoft Copilot for Azure (preview), you can gain new insights, discover more benefits of the cloud, and orchestrate across both cloud and edge. Copilot leverages Large Language Models (LLMs), the Azure control plane, and insights about your Azure environment to help you work more efficiently. In this talk, we will explore what Microsoft Copilot for Azure is and the different use cases it caters to.
