Topic: Automation at Scale with Azure, Terraform, and ServiceNow
In this session, we will review the framework required to ensure Automation works at scale in a large-scale Enterprise. Starting off with the different customers of IT, you will learn about the traditional and modern infrastructure as code workflows in use today. You will learn also about the different tools available to you in Microsoft Azure and when to use each one…ARM templates, Terraform, Azure Automation, etc. we cover all the key ingredients. Following the lecture portion, we will walk through a demo of how to provision basic IaaS infrastructure to full-fledged environments on-demand where complete application stacks are deployed. This is going to be an exciting session and you will learn how to practically implement the various tools inside your own company. Stay tuned at the end for some Q&A.

Nick Colyer is the Chief Architect and leads the Cloud & DevOps Practice for Ahead. He has over 25 years of experience in IT and works closely with large-scale enterprise customers to ensure effective cloud adoption. In addition to his work at Ahead, Nick is a Co-Founder of Skylines Academy (www.skylinesacademy.com) where he is the lead Microsoft Azure Instructor having now taught over 250,000 students. Nick also spends a considerable amount of time developing and refining the Ahead Cloud Operating Model which enables customers throughout their cloud journey. As part of helping customers succeed in the Cloud, he has worked to iterate on the Ahead migration methodology multiple times based on customer feedback. This helps to ensure a stable and high-quality cutover of services moving from data centers to the Public Cloud. Nick also leads efforts to provided automated infrastructure, platforms, and complete environments on-demand to help customers scale effectively. Prior to Ahead, Nick led large-scale migration and automation efforts for United Healthcare and TransUnion.
